Tips for mixing and matching blinds

We’re here to help you to be inspired in your home. Doubling up on window dressing adds value and personality into home décor, as well as flexibility for lighting and increased privacy. Below is our top tips on how to mix and match blinds and curtains to create that perfect window dressing.

Start with a solid base

Choose your favourite product whether that be a bold patterned roman blind or a block colour roller blind. Starting with a strong base allows product to be added, as adding layers can create a warm and cosy look, in particular when pairing roman blinds and curtains. The heavy material of these products has the power to maintain a cosy feel whilst giving the room a touch of luxury.

Don’t mix prints

When it comes to combining blinds and curtains, avoid putting print on print as it can be very overpowering, especially in a small space or a room overloaded with designs. However, mixing and blending textures can offer an interesting style. Create a tonal theme by pulling colours from patterns paired alongside colours from that pattern, doubling up without feeling intense.

Don’t be afraid to accessorise

Adding accessories to blinds might seem daunting; however, there are ways to keep it looking stylish. Diamante braids are a perfect way to make a blind look and feel more expensive and luxurious to the customer.

Consider the system

Hardware is often overlooked by the end consumer, but it is extremely important when it comes to completing the window. For example, neutral tones and warm colours such as orange are perfect for a bronze headrail, whereas darker tones of blue and green work well alongside our favourite, gunmetal grey.
